Microsoft China Employment Operations Eye

It is argued that Chinese state authorities have hacked more Hotmail e-mail addresses in the past than they have been watching digital communications of Tibetan and Uyghur opponents across the Beijing Administration. Old company employees who affirmed the allegations shared publicly that Microsoft could not inform customers if they noticed hacked accounts.

Microsoft, which made a statement to the media after the news, announced that it would inform its customers if it suspects a government-sponsored hacking case in the future. The company spokesperson, who hinted at the attacks, added that there is no clear information on who is behind the attack on Hotmail accounts.

In 2011, the attackers found that all of the e-mails received by Hotmail and other users of Microsoft's free mail services led to the adrese they wanted.
