Chrome Extension Watch Your Web Movements

There is an argument around these days some applications of Google Chrome, known for its success with privacy and on-line security, watch almost every page users visit.

According to the research led by Detectify, extensions such as Emoji Input, Speakit, SuperBlock, and Adblocker of the Chrome store follow the web movements of the users by loading third party codes. Browser data will then be available for sale by other third-party analytics services. Anyone who pays a certain recurrent fee based on the company's claim can see this information.

Detectify, which exploits these services, explains what information expansions have reached. These include sensitive browser histories such as internal network URLs and pages visited by only one person. That indicates extensions make it feasible for a specific person to reach and detect browser records.
